Climatic and Hydrological Factors Affecting the Assessment of Flood Hazards and Resilience Using Modified UNDRR Indicators: Ayutthaya, Thailand

This research aims to investigate the effect of climatic and hydrological factors on flood hazards assess resilience in Ayutthaya, Thailand, using 10 essentials for making cities resilient modified by United Nations Office Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR). Flood assessment was performed based a multi-criteria decision-making approach or analytical hierarchy process (AHP) pairwise comparison. The results indicate that runoff is considered most influential factor hazards, followed land use, rainfall, historical events, sequentially. Regarding incident management concept, questionnaire survey (n = 552) conducted understand impacts local communities. findings reveal 50% respondents had never received any information participated training sessions preparedness. Most reported their concerns about inadequate supply drinking water during flood. Spearman’s correlation coefficient shows positive correlations between disaster relief payments, preparedness training, access hazard mapping, emergency health services, preparation actions. According UNDRR indicators, top three highest AHP values building community Ayutthaya are risk scenario identification, effectiveness response, integrated urban planning, reduction. policy implications this include need national authorities better role can play vital supporting both international climate frameworks, especially Thailand’s National Management Plan, Sendai Framework (SFDRR), global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
